First day born and nursing.
Good Morning friends,
It has a been a very draining couple of days. The little bull calf you see in the picture went backwards on us. In his defense Mama has ginormous teats and he needs help getting on. But Sunday night he crashed. So between D and I we’ve been working on him.
Yes we are due to roll out Friday to start our next chapter. But we are making sure that this little guy gets going because his Mama was our cow. They will be moving to there new home as soon as we can get him on his feet and on the teat. I’m fairly confident that will happen today. But wow has this ever drained me physically. He’s not a small calf either easily 75 to 80 pounds. So we do our best because he’s doing his best.
It will feel strange to wake up and only have the dog to take care of after we move. But it is a welcome change that will alow our family to do so much more. It is also going to allow us to really plan out what animals we do want for our homestead when we eventually find our forever land. But most of all we will be able to enjoy our time as a family and get to do so much more activities and adventures.
